今シーズンのJUNYA WATANABE MANは、イギリスのアーティスト「ジャミロクワイ(Jamiroquai)」のジェイ・ケイ(Jay Kay)とコラボレーション。世界中の先住民族文化に着想を得た、ジェイ・ケイのファッションに着目し、ジュンヤ ワタナベ マンらしいワークやミリタリーのテイストと“リミックス”した新しいスタイルを打ち出したコレクションとなっています。アメリカで150年以上続く老舗ファブリックメーカーである「PENDELTON（ペンドルトン）」により作られたネイティブアメリカのパターンを使用。アメリカの歴史・文化の中から生まれた幾何学的で美しいネイティブパターンのジャガード生地はそれだけで力強い印象を生み出します。そのネイティブパターンのジャガード生地を使用して作られるジャケットは1980年代後半にアメリカ軍で採用されたミリタリージャケット「ECWCS（エクワックス）」がモチーフ。極寒寒冷機構向けに開発されたジャケットはインナーにフリースやパーカーなどを重ね着する事で様々な環境に適合可能な画期的なジャケット。少しゆったりとしたシルエットにリサイズされたエクワックスをベースにフロントとバックをペンデルトンによるネイティブパターンの生地切り替え。ブラックナイロンのボディに美しい幾何学柄のコントラストに、シルバーのコンチョによるアクセントがよりネイティブなデザインが強く打ち出された、まさに今シーズンの象徴的な一枚です。This season's JUNYA WATANABE MAN collaborates with British artist Jay Kay of Jamiroquai. Focusing on Jay Kay's fashion inspired by indigenous cultures around the world, Junya's Watanabe's work and military taste are combined with a new style "remixed".Uses Native American patterns made by "PENDELTON", a long-established fabric manufacturer that has been in the United States for over 150 years. Jacquard fabric with a beautiful geometric native pattern born from American history and culture creates a strong impression by itself.The jacket made using the native pattern jacquard fabric has the motif of the military jacket "ECWCS" adopted by the US military in the late 1980s. The jacket developed for extreme cold weather is an epoch-making jacket that can be adapted to various environments by layering fleece or parka as an inner layer. Based on Ekwax resized into a slightly relaxed silhouette, the front and back are made of Pendleton's native pattern fabric. The black nylon body contrasts beautifully with the geometric pattern, accented with silver conchos for a more native design.
